Family Law Associate Attorney (Hybrid/Remote) — Rochester, NY Compensation: $90,000 – $170,000 per year (guaranteed base salary + percentage of billed fees; bonuses and additional compensation available based on performance) Job Type: Full-time Location: Hybrid remote in Rochester, NY 14609 (Western New York). In-office work and in-person court appearances required, with flexibility for remote days every week. Experience: 2+ years desired, but will consider other attorneys admitted to the NYS Bar who demonstrate a strong interest in and aptitude for family law. What you’ll do As a Family Law Associate Attorney, you’ll manage your own cases while collaborating with experienced attorneys and a dedicated team. Key responsibilities include: Manage family law matters from intake through resolution, including: Divorce / matrimonial actions Child custody and visitation Child support / spousal support (maintenance) Other Family Court proceedings Draft and review legal documents: pleadings, motions, discovery, agreements, affidavits, etc. Conduct legal research and develop case strategies Communicate clearly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel Regularly litigate, including hearings, trials, conferences, and other proceedings as needed Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support teams to deliver an excellent client experience Required qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school Active license in good standing to practice in New York State Strong client-service mindset and high ethical standards Highly responsive to clients, and skilled in communication, organization, and case management Ability to work independently while contributing to a team Preferred (nice-to-have) experience Family law experience of at least two years is preferred (divorce/custody/support and/or family court work), but candidates demonstrating a strong commitment to a career as a family law attorney will be considered Experience managing a caseload with deadlines and performance metrics Practice management technology and modern workflows Billable hours structure Benefits include: Health and dental insurance 401(k) / retirement plan Potential for uncapped PTO (based on role/performance/coverage) Additional bonuses based on performance and incentives Mileage reimbursement for required travel to court appearances Firm-sponsored offsite events Professional development, training, and mentoring program Direct access to leadership Advanced technology and a unique support staff system designed to help attorneys focus on practicing law Work location & schedule This position is hybrid remote in Rochester, NY 14609 .
