Job Summary:

Cambridge City Schools is seeking a dedicated and student-centered eSports Advisor. The advisor will oversee the development, organization, and supervision of the school's eSports program, promoting teamwork, digital citizenship, and competitive excellence in a structured environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Organize and supervise all aspects of the high school eSports program.
• Coach and mentor students in game strategy, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Coordinate practices, competitions, and league participation.
• Ensure compliance with school policies and applicable Ohio regulations.
• Promote responsible gaming and positive digital behavior.
• Monitor student academic eligibility in accordance with district guidelines.
• Collaborate with administration, staff, and technology personnel.
• Manage equipment, software, and gaming space.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
• Maintain records, schedules, and program documentation.

Qualifications:

• Valid Ohio teaching license or Pupil Activity Permit (or ability to obtain).
• Demonstrated knowledge of eSports platforms, games, and competitive structures is preferred.
• Experience working with high school students is preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to foster an inclusive and positive team culture.
• Willingness to compete required background checks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior coaching or advising experience (eSports or other extracurricular activities).
• Familiarity with organized high school eSports leagues (e.g., Electronic Gaming Federation, High School Esports League).
• Basic understanding of streaming platforms and event coordination.

Terms of Employment:

• Supplemental stipend in accordance with the CEA negotiated agreement.
