Forklift Driver - 1st Shift

Position Information Job Title: Forklift Driver 1st Shift Division: Contract Logistics Location: New Berlin, WI Time Type: Full Time Job Summary The Forklift Driver operates power industrial trucks to move, locate, stack, and count merchandise. Responsibilities include receiving, put-away, order picking, quality checks, delivery to production lines, inventory control, and general warehouse maintenance. Safety, housekeeping, and compliance with company procedures are essential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations; enter data accurately into WMS. Efficiently stack, store, and maintain organized work areas. Pull, prepare, and ship orders to meet customer service standards. Perform quality inspections to ensure accurate and damage-free shipments. Move product from staging or storage to production lines or docking areas. Maintain inventory records and assist with physical inventories. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment and assist with security duties. Operate forklift, clamp truck, drum attachment, or other power equipment safely and efficiently. Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment daily. Keep forklift certification active and perform additional maintenance tasks as assigned. Repair pallets and other warehouse materials as needed. Work overtime as required by business needs. Minimum Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum 6 months experience in a logistics, distribution, or related environment. Ability to operate material handling equipment (MHE). Must be able to work in unregulated temperatures ranging from mild to moderate. Valid forklift training program completion. Basic computer skills, RF scanner usage, and WMS functions. English language proficiency (reading, writing, speaking). Basic to intermediate math skills for inventory verification. Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner. Ability to work with minimal supervision and adapt to changing conditions. Preferred Qualifications 1–2 years of warehouse, logistics, or distribution experience. 1–2 years forklift experience. Current or prior MHE certification. Physical Demands Occasional handling/fingering, sitting. Frequent bending. Constant walking and standing. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull 21–50 pounds; reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel. Work Environment Low to moderate noise; rare exposure to fumes or airborne particles; minimal exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals.
