This specialized role involves caring for patients immediately following open heart procedures, requiring proficiency in post-operative cardiac care from day one. The position emphasizes supporting hemodynamically stable and predictably unstable patients within a high-acuity cardiovascular environment. Job Details Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree from an Accredited Nursing Program, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in ICU or open heart recovery are required. Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Must have current state licensure as a Registered Nurse, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification. The role involves providing physical, emotional, spiritual, and cultural support to patients, including operating advanced medical equipment such as chest tubes, chest lines, multiple IVs, and ventilatory support. Responsibilities include assessing patient status, implementing care plans according to established policies, acting as a clinical leader, and assisting with staff precepting. The candidate will care for a diverse patient population including pediatrics, post-procedure cardiac care, and other surgical and medical diagnoses requiring skilled assessment and intervention. Experience in critical care, CVICU, and open heart post-operative care is preferred. The role involves collaboration with providers, healthcare professionals, and allied health staff to ensure comprehensive patient care, from admission through discharge, including discharge planning.
