Masters in Social Work / Counseling/ or Family Counseling Required

Full -Time Child & Adolescent Mental Health Counselor / Therapist to provide outpatient therapy services at our Newport, NH location. This position is primarily office-based, with the opportunity to provide school-based mental health counseling within local schools.

As a Child Therapist, you will deliver comprehensive outpatient mental health services to children, adolescents, and families. Services include assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and evidence-based therapeutic intervention. Counseling may be provided in-person and via telehealth , offering flexibility within a structured and supportive clinical team environment.

This role is ideal for clinicians seeking meaningful work in community mental health, access to supervision for licensure, and the opportunity to collaborate closely with schools and community partners.

Basic Responsibilities:

• Provide brief psychotherapy to children and/or families, including intake and evaluation, collaboration and mobilization of community resources, and provision of individual and group therapy sessions.
• Assist clients to gain insight, define goals, and plan action to achieve effective personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment.
• Manage case referrals and assignments, coordinating client care needs with other team members to ensure effective and optimal care.
• Follow through with parents, teachers, referring physicians or agencies as needed in a timely way to ensure optimal client care coordination.
• Provide school-based counseling services when assigned.

We provide training in evidenced-based practices, include MATCH, as well as supervision for licensure.

Requirements

Education:

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy or equivalent clinical discipline required
• Eligibility for licensure (LCMHC, LICSW, LMFT) by the State of New Hampshire preferred

Experience:

• Some experience working with this population strongly preferred
• Experience providing school-based mental health services preferred

• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Must be flexible and demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to learn necessary computer and technical skills essential to the position and Agency needs
• Ability to relate to staff, clients and community around a mental health system
• Maintain skill competencies in customer service, quality improvement, compliance and safety.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of and experience with an electronic medical record system
• Prior experience in a community mental health environment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to access all Agency sites

Other:

• Ability to obtain and maintain Agency and/or State of New Hampshire required background check(s)
• Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and the ability to maintain that confidence

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker collaborates with the multi-disciplinary team to provide input in the development of the plan of care for those patients/clients requiring social work intervention. The Licensed Clinical Social Worker provides counseling and crisis intervention to patients/clients who have social or emotional problems in a variety of settings across the age span.


Minimum Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Social Work from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education required
• Active license as an LCSW in state of practice required
• Minimum of one year of social work experience preferred
• Current CPR if applicable
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age
