Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, possibly 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 12-bed Emergency Department setting, managing lower-acuity patients (ESI 3–4) presenting with conditions such as abdominal pain, headache, and similar complaints
• Stabilize and coordinate transfer of critically ill patients as needed
• Perform labs, EKGs, patient transport, and transfers independently
• Float to freestanding emergency department locations as assigned, based on acuity and census needs
• Complete SIMs Lab competencies including Foley catheter insertion and port-a-cath insertion, maintaining strict sterile field technique
• Maintain a 1:4 patient ratio and collaborate with PCTs, Paramedics, and an on-site ED physician and mid-level provider

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Proficiency with Cerner EMR
• Ability to pass a Day 1 pass/fail orientation exam (study guide provided)
• Ability to pass SIMs Lab skills assessment, including demonstrated competency in sterile field technique
• Must have own reliable personal vehicle; 2 weekend shifts per month required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an emergency department setting; trauma experience is not required
• Familiarity with Phillips telemetry monitoring systems
• Experience as a Charge Nurse in an ED environment
