Travel RN - Emergency Department

This is a travel position for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. The unit has 52 beds and a staff of 134 members. During the day shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 tech, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, and 1 midlevel provider per pod. For the night shift, the staffing is similar. The average patient ratio is 3:1, with low acuity cases at 5:1, and pediatric cases using team nursing. Typical procedures performed include IV starts and medication administration, sedations, and care for pediatric patients. Candidates should be able to maintain the pace of a fast-moving emergency department. A diverse background and the ability to learn quickly are valued. Staff are relatively young, and independence in handling tasks is expected. Familiarity with Meditech is preferred. Experience in facilities larger than 52 beds is advantageous. Unit policies require that patients and medications be scanned every time. Requirements

Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital ED RN experience License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital Emergency Department RN experience. Experience in traveling or experience in large facility areas.
