Highway Project Manager

Highway Project ManagerDewberry is seeking a Highway Project Manager for its Bloomfield, NJ or Mount Laurel, NJ offices. The team player we seek must have a BS degree in Civil Engineering and 10+ years of experience with NJDOT and/or NJTA and have a NJ PE license. The candidate will be responsible for managing interdisciplinary projects, preparation of contract documents, managing subconsultants, monitoring budgets, schedules, administering quality control program, and performing reviews of work. The candidate must have experience writing technical proposals, the ability to function as a client manager, and possess in-depth experience in the design of highways and roadways, and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Certain positions are also eligible to receive overtime pay, whereas all non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime (subject to approval).In addition, a host of discounted purchase programs are available to all employees.ResponsibilitiesSupervise the performance of all facets of highway engineering including design of horizontal and vertical geometry, utility relocations, development of maintenance and protection of traffic schemes, preparation of right of way and coordination of drainage design, traffic signals and electrical/lighting systems for a variety of project types and clients.Prepare contract documents including: Plans, Specifications, and Cost EstimatesPlan and coordinate all aspects of workPrepare scope, budgets, and schedules for assignmentsAssist in the preparation of proposals to provide professional servicesRequired Skills & Required ExperienceBachelor of Science in Civil Engineering requiredNJ Professional Engineer license required10+ years' experience in highway designProficient with NJDOT, NJTA, AASHTO, and MUTCD design standards and proceduresAbility to manage and provide technical expertise in the following technical areas: Highway/roadway designDesign of vertical and horizontal alignmentsConstruction staging and design of maintenance and protection of traffic schemesPreparation of plans, specifications, and engineers estimatesMicrostation and OpenRoads Designer requiredExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsProficient with MS Office softwareValid drivers license and clean driving record requiredDon't meet every single requirement? Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NJ only.
