About the Position The successful applicant will work in accordance with core principles of the Center for Inclusive Excellence, including commitment to student participation, collegiality, collaboration, excellence in teaching, and experience in a multilingual and multicultural environment. The candidate will plan, develop, and teach pre‑licensure Nursing Science classes in the clinical setting and the campus skills lab at the Goleta campus. Additional duties include maintaining accurate student records and clinical grades, coordinating clinical instruction with faculty and clinical partners, participating in curriculum development, contributing to CCNE and BRN accreditation activities, and staying current in the subject matter and teaching techniques through ongoing professional development. Teaching responsibilities may include day, evening, and weekend classes and clinical labs at the Goleta satellite campus. Minimum Degree Requirements A master’s degree in nursing or higher from an accredited college or university, including courses in nursing education or administration. Required Qualifications Leadership in teaching baccalaureate‑level nursing and BRN content areas, evaluation of student learning outcomes, a current active California RN license, at least one year of experience teaching courses related to obstetrics or similar content, at least two years of continuous full‑time direct patient care practice as an RN, and at least one year of continuous full‑time RN practice within the last three years or eligibility for the Board of Registered Nurses approval to teach obstetrical nursing. As a condition of employment, a background check is required. The holder of this position is considered a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with CSU Executive Order 1083.
