Data Analyst

Possition Summary The Data Analyst supports the Family Service Center by collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to improve program outcomes, operational efficiency, and financial performance. This role plays a critical part in monitoring service utilization, evaluating program effectiveness, supporting revenue cycle activities, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and funding requirements. The Data Analyst works cross-functionally with clinical, non-clinical, finance, and leadership teams to turn data into actionable insights that support decision-making and enhance service delivery to individuals and families. Key Responsibilities: Data Collection & Management Extract, compile, and validate data from EHR/EMR systems, billing platforms, and other internal databases Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of client, service, and financial data Maintain data tracking tools for programs (mental health, prevention, case management, etc.) Develop and manage data dictionaries and standardized reporting definitions Reporting & Dashboard Development Create and maintain recurring reports (daily, weekly, monthly) for leadership and program teams Develop dashboards to track: Service utilization Client demographics No-show rates Staff productivity Revenue cycle metrics (claims, denials, collections) Translate complex data into clear, user-friendly visuals and summaries Program Evaluation & Outcomes Tracking Support evaluation of program effectiveness and community impact Track key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with grant and contract requirements Assist with outcome measurement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives Compliance & Documentation Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, attendance, and outcomes Ensure all activities align with ethical standards, funding requirements, and agency policies Revenue Cycle & Financial Data Support Analyze front-end and back-end revenue cycle data to identify issues impacting reimbursement Monitor trends in eligibility errors, denied claims, and payment delays Partner with billing and finance teams to improve revenue integrity Support forecasting and budgeting through data insights Identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for service improvement Compliance & Regulatory Reporting Assist with reporting requirements for Medicaid, funders, and oversight entities Ensure data handling aligns with HIPAA and organizational policies Support audits by providing accurate and timely data reports Maintain confidentiality and security of all client and organizational data Data Quality & Process Improvement Conduct routine data audits to identify inconsistencies or errors Recommend and implement process improvements for data entry and reporting workflows Train staff on data accuracy best practices (intake, documentation, systems use) Collaborate with IT to improve system functionality and reporting capabilities Cross-Functional Collaboration Work with program managers, clinicians, and administrative staff to understand data needs Provide data support for grant applications and reporting Present findings and recommendations to leadership in a clear, actionable format Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Public Health, Health Administration, Statistics, Social Sciences, or related field 2–4 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in healthcare, behavioral health, or nonprofit settings Experience working with databases, reporting tools, and spreadsheets (e.g., Excel, SQL, Power BI, Tableau) Preferred Qualifications Experience in behavioral health, community-based services, or Family Service Centers Knowledge of Medicaid and managed care data Familiarity with EHR/EMR systems and billing platforms Experience with grant reporting and outcome measurement Key Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Ability to translate data into meaningful insights for non-technical audiences Knowledge of data visualization best practices Understanding of healthcare privacy and compliance standards Strong communication and collaboration skills Work Environment Office-based with frequent cross-department collaboration May require occasional travel between service sites Hybrid work option (if applicable) Performance Metrics Accuracy and timeliness of reports Reduction in data errors or inconsistencies Improved visibility into program and revenue cycle performance Timely completion of grant and compliance reporting Stakeholder satisfaction with data support #J-18808-Ljbffr Fsc Galveston
