Additional Information About the Role Hospitalist Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) Adults Patients In‑Patient at Memorial Hospital Belleville and Shiloh 7‑on / 7‑off schedule (Days 7a–7p) Blend of Rounding and Admitting Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Nurse Practitioner (Hospitalist) utilizes a high degree of knowledge, skill, and competence to deliver inpatient care in a hospital setting. This position assesses, diagnoses, and initiates a patient care treatment plan within the scope of a formal physician collaborative practice agreement. Patient care is performed with considerable independence, guided by physician‑approved protocols, and evaluated through chart review, consultations, and the observation of results under the general medical direction of their collaborating hospitalist physician. Responsibilities Participates in professional development. Manages the health care of patient populations with compassion through advanced health assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and evaluation in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician. Coordinates the care of patient populations in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician to ensure promotion of health and wellness through education of patients and families, coordination of services, and placement of referrals. Develops treatment plans and treats patients with acute problems including illnesses and minor injuries following a predetermined protocol in a collaborative practice agreement with a physician. Maintains a constant state of alertness and works safely, as the position is safety‑sensitive. Minimum Requirements Education Master’s Degree in Nursing Experience Less than 2 years in a clinical setting. Supervisor Experience No prior supervisor experience required. Licenses & Certifications Nurse Practitioner Registered Nurse (RN) Preferred Requirements Education Doctorate in Nursing Experience 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
