Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Summary:

Seeking a skilled Operating Room RN to provide high-quality perioperative care in a fast-paced surgical environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise and leadership capabilities to support patient safety and positive outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Assess patient needs pre-operatively, ensuring all clinical and spiritual requirements are addressed.
• Monitor and interpret lethal dysrhythmias, responding promptly to any abnormalities.
• Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure safe patient positioning and utilization of clinical equipment.
• Assume responsibilities as a charge nurse when required, providing leadership and delegation.
• Maintain safety standards and infection control protocols within the OR setting.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with current NYS RN licensure.
• Valid BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred.
• Possess thorough knowledge of nursing principles and perioperative procedures.
• Demonstrate leadership skills suitable for charge nurse responsibilities.
• Ability to function effectively under stress, utilizing problem-solving and creative thinking.
• Prior experience in OR nursing, with knowledge of clinical instrumentation and aseptic techniques.
