Line Run Operations Manager

Transportation Operations Leader

Adventure Tours is seeking a strong transportation operations leader to take ownership of our scheduled line run division.

This role oversees approximately 18 scheduled intercity services operating throughout the Northeast corridor, including:

• Washington, DC to New York

• Richmond, VA to New York

• Philadelphia to New York

• Philadelphia to Boston

This is not a traditional dispatch role.

The Line Run Operations Manager will lead the operational performance, service reliability, driver accountability, and day-to-day execution of the company's line run network across multiple markets.

We are looking for someone who understands how to manage transportation operations in real time, interpret operational data, identify trends, develop corrective action plans, and drive measurable operational improvement.

Core Responsibilities

• Lead daily line run operations across multiple markets

• Monitor and improve on-time performance and service reliability

• Analyze operational data and build action plans tied to performance trends

• Manage operational escalations, delays, service disruptions, and service recovery efforts

• Hold drivers and operational teams accountable to company standards

• Coordinate with dispatch, maintenance, and operations leadership to resolve issues quickly and effectively

• Investigate recurring operational failures and implement corrective measures

• Ensure route coverage, schedule adherence, and operational consistency

• Maintain operational reporting and KPI tracking

• Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours operational support

• Maintain strong communication with internal leadership and operational partners

This role is expected to operate proactively, not reactively.

Operational Environment

This is a hands-on transportation operations leadership role in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment.

The ideal candidate must be comfortable managing:

• Real-time operational decision making

• Multi-market coordination

• Driver call-outs and schedule changes

• Equipment issues and service disruptions

• Weather impacts and customer service escalations

• High-volume operational communication

This role requires urgency, accountability, organization, and the ability to perform under pressure.

Qualifications

• Previous transportation dispatch, line run, or operations management experience required

• Strong analytical and operational decision-making ability

• Experience using operational data to drive measurable improvements

• Strong communication and leadership skills

• Ability to manage fast-moving transportation operations with urgency and accountability

• Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and participate in an on-call rotation as needed

• Motorcoach, intercity transportation, or scheduled route experience strongly preferred

• CDL with Passenger endorsement preferred, but not required

• Experience with transportation operations systems and reporting platforms preferred
