Respiratory Therapist

Location: Hollywood, Florida

Patients depend on our team for the best in evidence-based care and innovative therapies, such as inhaled nitric oxide, high-frequency oscillation, and invasive and non-invasive ventilator support modalities. Opportunities exist for motivated Registered Respiratory Therapists (and Certified Respiratory Therapy Technicians) with the skills to provide a high level of quality service in a variety of settings including the ED, Trauma and Critical Care.

Summary

Supervises daily staff activities for polysomnography functions/sleep center. Work hours will vary for this role.

Responsibilities

Oversight of calibration, troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment required for testing. Collaborates with Medical Leadership on Sleep Lab quality performance to ensure compliance with regulatory or accreditation requirements. Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels. Maintains payroll and monitors attendance and punctuality per MHS policy. Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures and protocols. Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels. Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.

Additional Job Information

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: Three (3) years of experience as a polysomnography technician with progressive leadership experience. Other Information: National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) is preferred. Additional Education Info: Associate's degree In a job related field and graduate of an accredited Polysomnography program.
