Respiratory Therapist

Location: Miramar, Florida

Patients depend on our team for the best in evidence-based care and innovative therapies, such as inhaled nitric oxide, high-frequency oscillation, and invasive and non-invasive ventilator support modalities. Opportunities exist for motivated Registered Respiratory Therapists (and Certified Respiratory Therapy Technicians) with the skills to provide a high level of quality service in a variety of settings including the ED, Trauma and Critical Care.

Summary: Serves as resource and mentor for less experienced therapists providing care for patients with cardiopulmonary disorders. Experience in PFT preferred; 2 shifts weekly; 7a - 7p

Responsibilities:

• Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care.
• Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition.
• Maintains requirements of Clinical Ladder.
• Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.
• Assists with providing staff education.
• Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance.
• Assess patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.
• Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.

Additional Job Information:

Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, effective communication skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Work Experience: Two (2) years of clinical experience with one (1) year in an area of specialty. Other Information: Additional Education Info: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Additional Credential Info: Can be licensed as RT or TT. National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential is preferred.
