Host/Hostess Position at Ruby's Diner

Ruby's Diner, which started in 1982, has grown to over 30 locations nationwide. We're looking for a host/hostess to join our team. Here's what you'll need to know:

Our restaurant uniform & appearance standards have been established with the 1940's in mind. To stay true to our roots, neatness and cleanliness are absolutely necessary at all times.

Be a part of creating the Ruby's experience by becoming a host/hostess! Position activities and tasks include:

1. Reports to work in proper and clean uniform.
2. Uses greeting, seating, and waiting list procedures.
3. Maintains cleanliness standards and stocks for the reception area and restrooms.
4. Accurately processes all guest checks with no cash overages or shortages.
5. Anticipates, identifies, and corrects system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
6. Provides assistance to pantry maintenance and pre-rush organization.
7. Provides assistance to all servers and bus persons in order to execute Perkins service standards.
8. Utilizes proper cash handling procedures to execute cash and non-cash transactions, counting change, security precautions, and cash accountability.
9. Ensures that the cash register and cash register area are stocked with all needed items.
10. Communicates with Manager on Duty and co-workers regarding product/service deficiencies, equipment, safety problems, etc.
11. Monitors and oversees food temperatures during hot and cold handling to reduce the incidence of risk factors known to cause food borne illness.
12. Has sufficient knowledge of menu to execute suggestive selling techniques with all guests.
13. Maintains cleanliness of bakery cases and restocks.
14. Has sufficient knowledge of bakery products to execute suggestive selling techniques and sampling programs with all guests.
15. Bags/boxes any products according to standards.

Experience and qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be able to occasionally work long hours.
