Bilingual Medical AssistantQuantum Pain and Orthopedics is looking for a Bilingual Medical Assistant to join our team! The Bilingual Medical Assistant is responsible for conducting administrative and specific clinical tasks under the direction of a Physician or Provider to ensure efficient operation of the clinic. The Medical Assistant contributes to a positive patient experience by functioning as a member of the clinical team performing a supportive role in the delivery of patient care that is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable.Essential Functions:Rooms patients consistent with clinic needs while determining and documenting chief complaint and reason for visit, vital signs, medication list, allergies, smoking history and other information as required by clinic.Documents patient vitals and keep medical records up to dateCommunicates and documents any status updates and changes regarding patient and treatment plan.Maintains patient charts and ensures completeness and accuracy of patients' forms.Keeps patients informed of delays and progress of clinical appointments.Provides administrative support and performs routine clerical tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and faxing.Ensures exam rooms are prepared and stocked with adequate medical supplies as well as cleaning rooms appropriately between patients.Maintains and responds to e-mails, telephone calls and inquiries.Takes telephone messages and provides feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls.Assists team and uses downtime efficientlyPerforms other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminologyKnowledge of patient care charts and patient historiesKnowledge of patient evaluation and triage proceduresAbility to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocolsAbility to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flowAbility to maintain calendars and schedule appointmentsAbility to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standardsAbility to adapt easily to changing conditions and work responsibilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsEducation and Experience:High School diploma or GEDFluency in both English and Spanish required.One (1) year of experience in a clinical setting.Medical Assistant certification preferred.Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred.Benefits Offered:3 Medical Plans2 Dental Plans1 Vision PlanEmployee Assistance ProgramShort and Long-Term Disability InsuranceBasic and Voluntary Life with AD&D Plan401(k) with a 2-year vestingPTO + HolidaysQuantum Pain and Orthopedics is a premier outpatient clinical network serving the San Antonio and Austin, TX areas.
