Job Title: 3rd Grade Math Teacher School: Southern Avenue Charter School Location: Memphis, TN Position Type: Full-Time Position Overview Southern Avenue Charter School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 3rd Grade English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher to support student growth in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The ideal candidate is passionate about literacy instruction, student-centered learning, and creating a positive, engaging classroom environment. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging instruction aligned with state standards and school curriculum Develop lesson plans that support diverse learning styles and student needs Implement effective classroom management strategies to promote a safe and supportive learning environment Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and adjust instruction accordingly Support students in developing strong reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and vocabulary skills Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, and school leadership Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with families Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school events Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (required) Valid teaching certification/licensure (preferred or required per state guidelines) Experience teaching elementary, preferably at the 3rd-grade level Strong classroom management and instructional skills Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs Strong communication and collaboration skills Preferred Skills Experience with data-driven instruction Familiarity with charter school environments Passion for student achievement and equity in education Work Environment & Expectations Full-time, in-person position Commitment to the school’s mission, values, and academic goals #J-18808-Ljbffr Southern Avenue Charter School
