Intern (year-round) - Medicare Advantage Servicing

Overview As an Intern at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, you will support the team by pulling reports from Scoreboard, creating and running huddles, supporting Bluestar Rewards, and assisting in timely email communications. The internship is based in Detroit with occasional travel to Southfield for in-person staff meetings. This role provides hands‑on experience in health insurance operations and is ideal for current undergraduate or graduate students seeking real industry exposure. Interns will also gain practical skills through participation in networking events, volunteer activities, and team meetings, helping build a foundation for a potential future career with BCBSM. Responsibilities Assist in preparing information and research materials to identify business problems and provide recommendations. Support leaders on projects designed to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness of the organization. Develop and maintain a solid understanding of BCBSM business, products, programs, data, and organizational structure. Analyze business goals, objectives, and needs within the organization. Participate in networking events with BCBSM leaders and other interns. Engage in volunteer activities and community outreach to build knowledge of our communities and customers. Participate in department meetings and events such as team‑building and weekly alignment meetings. Requirements Current undergraduate or graduate student with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Enrollment in a college/university or Master’s/PhD program for the duration of the internship. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and priorities. Responsibility for maintaining confidential information to the highest degree. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suites and applicable BCBSM systems. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships.
