A small, owner-run custom machine shop is hiring one experienced CNC Lathe Machinist for first shift. This is a full-time, permanent job.

About the shop:

- About a dozen people and nine CNC machines: four Okuma lathes and five 3-axis mills (Haas and Okuma, with rotaries for 4th axis work)

- Every job is custom, short-run work. No long production runs.

- The shop already has its programmers. This job is for someone who sets up and runs the lathes and handles their own offsets.

- One of the owners is running a lathe right now. You would take that lathe over.

What you will do:

- Set up and run CNC lathes on custom parts

- Touch off tools and adjust offsets on your own

- Work from blueprints and check your own parts

- Help with mill setups when needed

What you need:

- 2+ years setting up and running CNC lathes or turning centers. Pay goes up with experience.

- Able to do your own setups and offsets without someone standing over you

- Custom job shop or short-run experience

- Okuma experience is a plus. Mazak, Haas and other controls are fine.

- Mill setup experience is a plus

- Programming is NOT required

Schedule:

- First shift only, Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM

- Busy weeks can run to 3:30 PM. Saturdays are voluntary.

- This is not a heavy overtime shop. The owners keep a steady schedule on purpose.

Pay and benefits:

- $30 to $34 per hour, based on experience

- Health insurance after 90 days

- Direct hire, permanent position
