Job DescriptionJob Title: Compliance Program ManagerCompany: AISIN World Corp. of AmericaDepartment: General Administration, Legal Affairs DepartmentLocation: Northville, MIPosition SummaryAISIN World Corp. of America ("AWA"), a global Tier-1 automotive supplier, is seeking a Compliance Program Manager to join our Legal Affairs Department.This position brings the compliance program to the people who do the work. You will build and deliver compliance training, roll out new policies across more than 30 companies in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, and promote the program so more than 15,000 team members understand the standards, why they matter, and how to raise a concern.The successful candidate brings at least five years of compliance experience and communicates equally effectively on the plant floor and in the executive suite. You are organized, you follow through, and you can analyze program data and explain what it means.A law degree is not required, though an attorney would be well suited to this role. Our attorneys handle legal advice, legal risk, the compliance hotline, and investigations. Your focus is to build the program, operate it, and establish it across our plants and offices.The position requires approximately 25% travel to our sites in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. We welcome candidates who want to grow into a global compliance leadership role.Position ResponsibilitiesThe Compliance Program Manager is expected to perform the following three core functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:Compliance Program Ownership and Network LeadershipRun the day-to-day operation of the North American compliance program. It covers more than 30 companies in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The program and all materials are delivered in English, Spanish, and Japanese.Be the main contact for compliance program questions from our companies and from Japan headquarters. Send legal questions to Legal Affairs.Lead the network of Compliance Officers and Compliance Managers at each company. They do not report to you. You lead them through trust, clear standards, and follow-up.Deliver standard training to every Compliance Officer and Compliance Manager. Cover their duties, including Code of Conduct work, policy rollout, training delivery, and when to escalate. Teach in person and online, track 100% completion, and maintain the records.Visit plants and offices to see how the program is working. Meet with local leaders and team members, and share your observations with Legal Affairs.Work with the Japan headquarters compliance team. This includes weekly calls on the status of compliance activities and promoting compliance materials.Some calls may be late at night or early in the morning.Report program status and results to the General Counsel, Senior Counsel, senior management, and Japan headquarters management. Reporting is ongoing and driven by need, not only on a fixed schedule.Write the annual compliance program report and recommend the program priorities for the next fiscal year.Training, Communication, and CultureManage the Code of Conduct program. This includes annual training, new hire onboarding, and updates. Legal Affairs reviews and approves all content before release.Plan, schedule, and deliver annual training on compliance topics, policies, and procedures across the company:Code of ConductAntitrustAnti-corruption and briberyOther compliance topics identified for the yearExecutive, management, and Compliance Officer trainingPlan and track training across all locations and employee groups, and drive completion to the annual target.Build compliance campaigns and materials that work for a plant floor audience. This includes posters, short messages, and site events.Have all materials translated into Spanish and Japanese. Check the translations before they go out.Speak to senior leaders, HR groups, company compliance meetings, and Japan headquarters as the region's expert on the compliance program.Run the annual compliance survey from start to finish. Study the results and present what you found and what to do about it to Legal Affairs and senior management.Policy Rollout and Program SupportMaintain the regional compliance policy library.Work with each company to put the regional policies in place and track them through to completion.Roll out approved policies and procedures across the company. Legal Affairs writes the policies. You take them to the organizations and ensure adoption.Prepare the proposal for senior management approval.Explain the change across a large network of companies.Build and deliver training for office and plant employees.Own the compliance program records for the region. This includes training completion, policy sign-offs, and site visit records. Keep the data accurate and audit-ready.Support compliance technology projects, including self-service and AI tools. Verify content accuracy before release, and monitor tool usage.Manage compliance program vendors, including training platforms and translation providers. Watch service levels, scheduling, invoices, and performance.Help Legal Affairs manage outside law firms on compliance matters. This includes scheduling, collecting documents, tracking status, and tracking budget. Legal Affairs hires and directs outside counsel.Perform other duties and tasks assigned. This job description is not intended to be a complete list of all responsibilities, and duties may change as business needs require.Required Skills and AbilitiesEssential Skills and Experience:ABILITY TO PROJECT-MANAGE LARGE-SCALE COMPLIANCE ROLLOUTS AND PROJECTS REQUIREDNo less than 5 years of proven experience in compliance or ethics.No less than 5 years of proven experience promoting, rolling out, and building support for a company compliance program.Must be a dynamic speaker and presenter; a people person. You will present to large groups regularly.Proven ability to lead and get results from people who do not report to you.Experience building training and teaching live to large, mixed groups, including hourly plant employees.Ability to pull, study, and explain program data, such as training completion rates and survey results.Skilled in PowerPoint and able to present ideas clearly.Strong communication skills in speaking, writing, and presenting. Effective with senior executives and with plant floor employees.Able to work on your own and take initiative.Strong organization and time management skills, with close attention to detail.Proven ability to drive open items to completion across many sites and time zones.Beneficial Skills and ExperienceExperience promoting compliance activities to a plant workforce.Experience training and teaching a workforce about compliance.Experience promoting compliance materials in more than one language, including checking translation quality.Working knowledge of Spanish or Japanese.Experience at a Japanese-parented company or another company with a foreign headquarters.Experience running a learning management system or other compliance records system.Experience with compliance technology, including self-service or AI tools.Experience visiting or auditing manufacturing sites.Education/Training/CertificationsBachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP or CCEP-I) preferred. If you are not certified, you must earn it within 12 months of hire.
