Associate Fire Sprinkler Inspector

THE POSITION IN A NUTSHELL Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an Associate Fire Sprinkler Inspector to provide inspection and maintenance capabilities. This position will work closely with our sales team, field project teams, and clients to ensure our customers’ systems are inspected and maintained in a code‑compliant manner. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of executing projects. Customer and employee interface requires a high degree of effective human relations. Communication skills, both verbal and written, are important elements of the position. Responsibilities Assist in reviewing system layouts and coordinating with the systems and service departments for successful project execution. Follow all safety protocols and effectively use/operate common hand tools and equipment. Remove sprinkler heads using the appropriate tools and equipment. Produce field surveys and daily project activity logs. Assist with inspecting and maintaining fire sprinkler systems. Produce detailed inspection and deficiency reports in accordance with NFPA. Assist in delivering projects on schedule and within cost budgets. Log and transmit inspection reports via electronic devices. Comply with industry standard procedures and Sciens safety programs/policies. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Desire to enroll in the Sprinkler Fitter apprentice program and grow in the Fire and Life Safety Industry. Basic knowledge of wet, dry, and pre‑action systems, as well as backflows and fire pumps. Actively pursuing NICET and State required certifications. Willing and able to utilize electronic devices and software for completion of inspection reports and other duties. Ability to work under tight deadlines and with a sense of urgency. Ability to work independently with some supervision. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to obtain OSHA 10 Certification. Customer‑focused; skilled in project and people management. Good organizational, decision‑making, and communication skills. Be physically fit to perform the demanding work of the trade, including frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds, maximum occasional lifting up to 50 pounds; able to work from heights and climb ladders; standing and walking for most of the workday.
