Schumann Printers, Inc. is looking for a Maintenance Trainee to join our second-shift team!

You don't need to be an experienced maintenance technician to get started. We're looking for someone with basic mechanical aptitude, familiarity with hand and power tools, and a strong willingness to learn.

In this entry-level position, you'll work alongside experienced maintenance professionals who will provide hands-on training and guidance. You'll start with basic maintenance tasks and gradually develop the skills needed to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial equipment.

What You'll Learn to Do

With training and experience, you'll gradually develop the skills to:

• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot basic mechanical problems.
• Assist with equipment repairs and replacement of mechanical components.
• Inspect, lubricate, and maintain industrial machinery.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools for maintenance work.
• Assist with equipment installations and maintenance projects.
• Perform general building and facility maintenance.
• Document maintenance activities and equipment repairs.
• Follow industrial maintenance safety procedures, including lockout/tagout as trained and authorized.

You won't be expected to know how to do all of these things on day one. You'll begin by assisting experienced team members with basic tasks and take on more responsibility as your skills, knowledge, and confidence grow.

What We're Looking For

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with common hand and power tools.
• An interest in learning how industrial equipment operates.
• Dependable, reliable, and willing to learn.
• Good attention to detail and basic problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow instructions, work safely, and contribute to a team.
• Availability to work second shift, Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:00 PM, with overtime as needed.

Helpful, but not required:

• Experience with basic mechanical repairs or general maintenance.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Vocational or technical training in mechanics, maintenance, or a related field.

Physical Requirements

This position involves standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and using hand and power tools. Employees may be required to lift or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
