Credit Associate

Overview A leading US law firm is looking for a Private Credit Associate to join its New York office. The team advises private debt funds, direct lenders, and alternative asset managers on a broad range of credit and financing transactions. This is a strong platform for associates who want consistent exposure to sponsor-backed deals and complex credit structures within an established private capital practice. Responsibilities Senior secured and unitranche financings Mezzanine and subordinated debt transactions Holdco and PIK facilities Asset-based and NAV financings Refinancings and recapitalisations Intercreditor arrangements and covenant negotiations The role includes drafting and negotiating credit agreements and related documentation, managing due diligence, and working directly with clients and opposing counsel. The team works closely with the firm’s private equity, restructuring, and fund finance practices. About You 3–8+ years’ experience in leveraged finance or private credit at a top US or international law firm Strong experience drafting and negotiating credit agreements Familiarity with sponsor-backed transactions Experience representing private debt funds or direct lenders preferred Solid understanding of capital structures and intercreditor issues Admission to the New York Bar Why Apply?
