Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Urbana, IL, requiring a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, Epic proficiency, and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital Emergency Department
• Mid-shift schedule: 12:00 PM – 12:30 AM, 3 days per week, 36 hours per week
• 2 on-call shifts required per 6-week schedule period; call shifts are 13 hours with an expectation to be on-site within one hour
• A mandatory 2-week nights rotation is required for all travelers
• No block scheduling
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Holiday shifts on a rotation basis
• No floating requirements
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license in good standing required; temporary license accepted
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• TNCC highly preferred
• Minimum 3 years of relevant ED nursing experience required
• ASN required; BSN preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Trauma Level 2 or higher experience preferred
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Performs comprehensive patient assessments and develops individualized care plans in collaboration with providers, patients, and families
• Implements and continuously modifies nursing interventions and care plans based on patient response
• Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient care in Epic
• Upholds patient and staff safety by adhering to safety standards and addressing hazards appropriately
• Communicates and collaborates effectively with the interdisciplinary team, patients, and families
• Travelers who have been on continuous assignment with the health system for 1 year must either convert to permanent employment or take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the health system
• RTO is limited to no more than 7 days total per 13-week contract
