The ideal candidate is someone who has M&P experience in aerospace, experience in product development and excellent collaborative skills. The ability to guide design teams, manufacturing teams, and suppliers in the development/manufacturing of the aircraft is essential.The ability to think outside the box and a strong mechanical intuition are important to troubleshoot design challenges and manufacturing issues. As an M&P Engineer you will be required to qualify materials, develop processes, improve manufacturing processes, work with quality, disposition NCR’s, and audit both internal and supplier facilities.You will also be involved in R&D activities and consequently the writing of test plans and overseeing test execution. Testing will include material qualification, process development, component development, optimize manufacturability and anything else along the path of developing and efficiently manufacturing the aircraft.How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:Guide and support the various design teams in the development of the aircraft componentsCollaborate with suppliers for materials, components, equipment, etc.Work with manufacturing teams to optimize manufacturability of the aircraft, reduce cycle time and provide equipment requirementsWork with quality to implement controls for materials, processes and operator trainingAudit internal and external facilitiesWrite and review engineering documents/drawings, material specifications and process specificationsCoordinate and carry out material and process qualificationsWrite test plans and execute testingParticipate in design reviewsSupport first article inspectionsSupport conformity activitiesTroubleshoot engineering and manufacturing issuesThis position requires travel for manufacturing support and supplier auditsThis position is primarily on-siteMinimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree focused in either Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgy, Materials or Aerospace EngineeringMinimum of 5 years aerospace experience. Ideally 10+ years in aerospace.Strong knowledge of industry specifications for materials, processes, testing and qualityExperience writing specifications, generating test plans, overseeing and executing testing and writing test reportsStrong problem solving skills and outside the box thinkerEnjoys coaching and teaching and has solid collaborative skillsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with both internal & external customersHigh energy, self-motived, organized and detail-orientedProficient at learning new tools and new softwareA passion for all that is aerospaceKnowledge of electrical systems is an assetExperience with composites, batteries and/or motors is desirableExperience in product development and supporting certification is an assetPhysical Demands and Work Environment:This position requires a mix of office-based work and time spent in lab, hangar, or manufacturing environments.
