Position Overview The organization is seeking 3–4 Staff Attorneys to join its dynamic Tenants’ Rights Unit in Miami. This role is an outstanding opportunity for attorneys seeking meaningful litigation experience, courtroom exposure, long-term career stability, and high-impact public interest work. Key Responsibilities Represent low-income tenants in civil litigation and administrative proceedings related to housing stability and tenants' rights. Handle all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests. Prepare for and represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and trial proceedings. Conduct legal research, case investigation, and client consultations. Work collaboratively with team members, community organizations, and housing advocates to protect housing access across the region. Qualifications & Background Bar License: Active admission to the Florida Bar is required. Experience Level: Open to newly licensed attorneys through candidates with 1–6+ years of experience . Litigation Exposure: Prior experience with motion practice, discovery, pleadings, hearings, or general litigation support is strongly preferred. Preferred Experience: Background with a Public Defender’s Office, State Attorney’s Office, legal aid organization, or public interest non‑profit is a plus (candidates transitioning from private practice with a demonstrated commitment to public service are also encouraged to apply). Languages: Bilingual fluency in Spanish or Haitian Creole is highly desirable (not required). Location: Candidates should reside within reasonable commuting distance of the Miami office due to local travel/court requirements. Compensation & Bonus Structure Starting base salary is tied directly to your Florida Bar admission year: Newly Admitted (2025/2026): Starting at $75,000 2024 Admit: $79,000 2023 Admit: $80,000 2022 Admit: $81,000 2021 Admit: $82,000 2020 Admit: $83,000 2019 Admit: $84,000 Bonus: Eligible for an annual performance bonus after completing one full year of employment (typical payout ranges between $6,000 and $8,000 annually).
