Responsibilities
- Decontaminate, prepare and package instruments for sterilization, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Operate and monitor departmental equipment (eg, autoclaves); identify malfunctions and follow quality assurance indicators.
- Receive, sort, and process reusable supplies and instruments; return clean instruments to the processing area.
- Assemble and wrap instrumentation for sterilization; inspect for serviceability and cleanliness.
- Prepare scheduled case carts and deliver to the operating area prior to scheduled cases; complete STAT and emergency carts as needed.
- Maintain logs, stock levels, and a clean, organized work area; comply with personal protective equipment and safety guidelines.

Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Certification: Certified Sterile Processing Technician status preferred or ability to obtain
- Experience: 1–3 years Central Sterile Supply or related experience preferred
- Licenses: No specific license required; CSR Tech certification preferred
- Professional: Ability to work in a hospital sterile processing department and follow established policies and procedures
