(Foster Growth, Independence, and Creativity — join TERI’s Center for the Arts as a Direct Support Professional!

As a Direct Support Professional at TERI’s Center for the Arts, you’ll work directly with adults with developmental disabilities in a creativity-focused environment. You’ll take part in implementing our participants Behavior Intervention Plans through direct care and support so they can work towards Painting, Mosaic, Ceramic Projects, and more. Your support will help individuals express themselves, learn new skills, and enjoy meaningful, fulfilling experiences every day.

Your Role & Responsibilities –

• Directly support individuals on a one on one basis and/or group through daily activities and creative programs
• Make every day meaningful and fun by working towards client engagement in theater, art, and music settings
• Assist with daily living tasks such as personal hygiene, toileting, and occasional feeding
• Foster independence and empower clients by offering choices throughout the day
• Deliver individual program plans/goals and behavior support plans
• Assist with interventions designed to protect individuals who engage in severe problem behavior and those around them.
• Administer medications and basic first aid as needed
• Ensure safety and well-being by responding appropriately to challenging behaviors or medical needs

Qualifications –

• Passion for helping others, along with a strong sense of reliability and commitment
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• Minimum of 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination in with special needs and experience working with adults in vocational or volunteer settings.
• Must be able to obtain Class B Driver’s License with 2 Years Clean Driving Record.

$20.00 Hourly
