Dyno Operator - Chassis (3rd shift)

Chassis Dyno Operator

The Chassis Dyno Operator will support engineering research, development, or certification testing of vehicles, sub-systems, components, or materials. This role is responsible for collecting data using specialized equipment, control software, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems. This role will also support diagnosis of the unit on test, and the complete experimental setup, to ensure operational efficiency and data quality.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support execution of test procedures, while collecting high-quality data, using specialized equipment.
• Support diagnosis and issue resolution for the unit on test, equipment control software, instrumentation, data acquisition systems, or facilities.
• Work directly with Engineers to operate at experimental conditions.
• Support calibration and maintenance of test equipment for accuracy and ISO compliance.

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Good computer skills and flexibility to learn new skills.
• Good communication skills, written and verbal.
• Good customer service and organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of internal combustion engines, fuel systems, components, or material properties.
• Ability to learn and follow detailed test procedures while recording data.
• Must be able to drive, or have the ability to learn how to drive, manual transmission vehicles.

Preferred:

• Associates Degree or Technical School certification.
• 2 years' experience testing powertrains, engines, fuel systems, emissions, chassis components, or material properties.
• Experience operating or calibrating emissions analyzers, flow meters, or tensile test machines.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Good MS Office skills specifically with Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of common testing equipment and software used in engine, fuel systems, components, or material test environments.
• Knowledge of emissions equipment including: Horiba or AVL gas analyzers, Smoke Meters, or Opacity meters.
• Ability to diagnose issues with engines, powertrains, or experimental test setup.
