Positive Attitude Values Teamwork Self Accountability Job Specific Requirements: A Line Cook is in charge of preparing food and setting up other necessary supplies. They make sure everything has been set up correctly before starting work. They use specialized kitchen tools to prepare essential ingredients and create a finished product for restaurants. Responsibilities Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces) Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef’s instructions Clean up station and take care of leftover food Stock inventory appropriately Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers Requirements and skills Proven cooking experience, including experience as a Line Chef, Restaurant Cook or Prep Cook Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks Familiar with industry’s best practices Culinary school diploma We ask you to: Honors and encourages others to follow the visions and values of the restaurant Ability to multitask quickly, yet thoroughly Have the ability to communicate effectively in English or Spanish Be at least 16 years of age Be willing and able to work a flexible schedule Have the ability to lift and carry 10-55 lbs.
