Registered Nurse - SCI Camp Hill

PA Department of Corrections – Registered Nurse – State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill. Provide essential medical care and support inmate health needs in a supportive environment. Responsibilities Implement nursing care plans, check vital signs, administer medications, and perform treatments. Assist physicians during examinations, clinics, and screenings. Respond to emergencies, including CPR, first aid, and AED use. Maintain accurate medical records, prepare reports, and manage documentation. Sterilize instruments, track inventory, and ensure proper medical supplies. Pursue professional development through training sessions and policy updates. Work Hours & Schedule Full-time employment; 40‑hour work week. Three 8‑ or 12‑hour shifts: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM; 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM; 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM. Work hours to be determined; alternative schedules may be available. Required Experience & Training Active authorization to practice as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania. Temporary practice permit holders must obtain RN licensure within one year (Pw-State Board of Nursing). PA residency requirement currently waived. Graduating nursing students within 60 days of completion are eligible; must provide proof of current PA temporary practice permit or RN license at appointment. Successful completion of Basic Training in Elizabethtown, PA. required. Must be able to perform essential job functions.
