Clinical Nurse - Diagnostic Imaging (1230-2300)

MD Anderson's Diagnostic Imaging department is one of the most advanced imaging centers in the world dedicated solely to cancer care. DI provides: Comprehensive imaging services including CT, MRI, PET/CT, Ultrasound, Mammography, Interventional Radiology, and Nuclear Medicine. Specialized oncology-focused imaging utilizing state-of-the-art technology for detection, staging, treatment planning, and monitoring. A collaborative, multidisciplinary model involving radiologists, nurses, technologists, and oncology teams. High-volume, high-acuity patient care, offering nurses exposure to complex oncologic cases. Strong emphasis on patient experience, ensuring comfort, communication, and high-quality care throughout the imaging process. The Clinical Nurse plays a vital role in patient preparation, education, safety, procedural support, contrast management, reaction response, throughput coordination, and high-level patient interaction. The Clinical Nurse coordinates and delivers patient-centered, evidence-based care across the continuum in Diagnostic Imaging. This role works as part of an inter-professional team, advocates for patients and families, and supports staff development to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Shift / Hours Monday - Friday / 1230 - 2300 / Rotating weekends: Saturday & Sunday / Holiday and On-Call Key Responsibilities Deliver quality, cost-effective patient care using available resources responsibly. Anticipate patient and family needs in collaboration with nursing leadership. Participate in unit change initiatives and support positive team culture. Apply new evidence and comply with regulatory standards. Utilize imaging technology and contribute to process improvement. Structural Empowerment Provide input for performance evaluations of staff and promote accountability. Demonstrate effective communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution. Support a culture of innovation, professional growth, and strong patient outcomes. Build collaborative relationships across the unit and department. Exemplary Professional Practice & Empirical Outcomes Deliver evidence-based care aligned with the Texas Nurse Practice Act and MD Anderson standards. Provide systematic, outcome-driven care with measurable improvements. Maintain ethical practice, compassion, and clinical competence. Engage in lifelong learning and professional development. Contribute to the assessment and analysis of clinical and quality metrics. Other Duties Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support department and institutional goals.
EDUCATION
Required: Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing. Preferred: Bachelor's Degree Nursing. Work Experience Required: NoneLICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS
Required: RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license. Upon Hire and Required: ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support Upon Hire and Required: PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support If working in the following department: Nrsg Post Anesthesia Care Unit (600160). Upon Hire Preferred: OCN - Oncology Nurse Certification Upon Hire Preferred: Certification in specialty practice area. Upon Hire All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
