We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Travel Adaptive Physical Education Teacher to join our team of professionals who work collaboratively to support students. We are a therapist- and woman-owned and operated company.Additional Details: This is an in-person position. Provide individualized adaptive physical education services to students with disabilities by developing engaging activities that improve motor skills, physical fitness, and participation in school-based PE. Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to support students' IEP goals and create an inclusive, positive learning environment.Highly supportive and collaborative school district that values its team.Travel package and relocation support for candidates interested in moving to the area.Unique travel opportunity to experience and work in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.Potential to transition into a traditional role if you enjoy the district and community.Compensation: up to $65; travel stipend can be discussed for candidates who are willing to relocateQualifications:Bachelor 's or master's degree in Physical Education, Adapted Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Special Education, or a related field.Valid state teaching license with the appropriate Physical Education and/or Adapted Physical Education certification or endorsement.Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, IEP development, and other applicable special education requirements.Experience working with children or adolescents with disabilities in an educational setting.Knowledge of motor development, physical fitness, adapted sports, movement education, and activity modifications.Ability to assess gross motor skills, mobility, balance, coordination, physical fitness, and functional movement.Ability to develop and implement individualized Adapted Physical Education programs and IEP goals.Strong communication, collaboration, behavior-management, organization, and documentation skills.Ability to work effectively with families, teachers, therapists, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams.Ability to complete required background checks, fingerprinting, health screenings, and district onboarding requirements.Ability to travel between school locations when required.Responsibilities: Provide direct Adapted Physical Education services to students with disabilities in accordance with their IEPs.Assess students' gross motor development, physical fitness, mobility, coordination, balance, strength, endurance, and functional movement.Develop, implement, monitor, and document individualized physical education goals and objectives.Design and deliver adapted instruction that promotes motor development, physical fitness, recreation, independence, and participation.Modify activities, equipment, rules, environments, and instructional strategies to meet students' individual needs.Collaborate with general physical education teachers to support student participation in inclusive settings when appropriate.Monitor student progress, collect data, and prepare evaluations, progress reports, and required special education documentation.Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, multidisciplinary evaluations, annual reviews, and parent conferences.Collaborate with teachers, families, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other related service providers.Recommend adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications that promote access, participation, and safety.Monitor students' medical precautions, physical limitations, and health needs during instruction.Maintain student confidentiality and comply with district policies, IDEA, FERPA, and applicable federal and state requirements.Benefits:Health Benefits on Day 1 (Medical, Dental, Vision) with 50% employer contribution401k with match and immediate vesting, 100% match for the first 3% and 50% for 4 % and 5% (also a part-time benefit)Up to 40 hours PTO/sick time (also a part-time benefit)AK State Licensure ReimbursementNational Certification StipendProfessional liability insurance (also a part-time benefit)Cancer insurance (also a part-time benefit)Pet insurance (also a part-time benefit)Life insurance (also a part-time benefit)Catastrophe medical (also a part-time benefit)Referral bonus: $500 referral bonus for each employee referredPlease contact Karen Knight for more information and additional details.
