Food Service Assistant II, Sanitation | Boston Childrens Hospital**Please note that this role requires you to work every other weekend/holidays**Position Summary:Our mission is to transform the healthcare experience through culinary excellence and genuine hospitality, proving that great food and compassionate service are essential partners to our community. Under general supervision, this position maintains sanitation in the food court and kitchen. Works independently in waste, linen and compost removal. Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment including but not limited to dish machine, pot wash machine, service areas and work stations in an orderly condition.Key Responsibilities:Cleans and sanitizes counters, tray lines, food wells, appliances and equipment in Main Kitchen workspace and according to specific scheduleReads and records temperature of appropriate food and equipment dailyMaintains high levels of sanitation of all equipment by adhering to department policies and procedures, Health department codes and J.C.A.H.O. regulationsMay train lower level employeesMaintains clear communication channels and constructive, sensitive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, patients, customers, family members and all hospital staffWashes dishes, silverware, trays and serving equipment using dish machine and three bay sinkMonitors sanitation and food handling, storage and temperature to ensure compliance with established codes and standardsPrepares service areas at the start and end of each meal period following established schedulesTurns on equipment and measures, tests and distributes sanitation solutionsArranges, straightens and cleans dining tables, chairs and countersMonitors and reports equipment in need of repair or replacement. Maintains related logs and recordsEducation & Experience:High School Diploma / GED is preferred, and 6 months of similar experience is requiredThe skills to read and understand English, add and subtract numbers, and make comparisons between numbers and lettersPhysical Requirements:Lifting and carrying patients/children/objects weighing up to 10lbs and occasionally 11-20lbsRegularly stooping and bendingReaching and grasping objects below, above and at shoulder levelRegularly grasping and fine manipulation with handsRegularly sitting and standingFrequently inputting/retrieving words or data into or from an automated/computer systemStatus: Full-TimeStandard Hours per Week: 40Pay Range: $17.65-$24.27 HourlyOffice/Site Location: BostonJob Posting Category: Support ServicesRemote Eligibility: Onsite Only
