About the Role:

The Material Handler I plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials within a warehouse or production environment. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, and distributing materials and products accurately and in a timely manner. Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Basic math and reading skills to understand work orders and inventory documentation.
• Prior experience in a warehouse or material handling environment is preferred but not required.
• Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in material handling.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work flexible hours including overtime or weekends if needed.
• Good communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and supervisors.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying quantities and inspecting for damage.
• Store materials in designated locations following organizational and safety guidelines.
• Pick and prepare materials for production or shipment according to work orders.
• Maintain accurate inventory records through data entry and physical counts.
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
• Assist in maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals.

Skills:

The required skills such as basic math, reading comprehension, and physical stamina are essential for accurately processing materials and maintaining productivity throughout the workday.
