Consults and follow-up visits are seen. The role also supports the Endocrinology Service in MCF Hospital, seeing all types of Endocrine subspecialties. The APPs also assist the Department in responding to patient messages/requests through their patient portal. Clinic hours are normally Mon-Fri, 8-5; whereas hospital is Mon-Sun 8-5 or 9-6 with call evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant performs the following tasks in any authorized setting (clinics, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, nursing homes, or patient's home). The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant at Mayo Clinic also may perform the following tasks in any authorized setting:Obtaining patient historyPerforming physical examinationsOrdering and performing diagnostic and therapeutic proceduresFormulating a diagnostic impressionDeveloping and implementing a treatment planMonitoring effectiveness of therapeutic interventionsOffering counseling and education to meet patient needsMaking appropriate referralsPrescribing and dispensing prescription medication in accordance with FL state laws and department policiesDemonstrates ability to assess data reflective of patient's status and appropriately interprets information relative to patient's age-specific needs.Assist with ongoing departmental process improvement and policy developmentOther departmental or institutional committee assignments as neededQualificationsNew Graduates are welcome to apply!Nurse Practitioner: Masters-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current FL RN and APRN license and certification as a FNP or ANP.Physician Assistant: Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the FL State Board of Medical Practice.Additional Qualifications:Active BLS certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at start date and DEA registration required.Exemption StatusExemptCompensation DetailEducation, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
