Elementary Teacher First Grade

General Education Teacher – Responsibilities Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences. Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. Utilize direct instruction techniques to guide our students through a variety of activities designed to promote their social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school success. Assist in assessing changing curricular needs and offer plans for improvement. Maintain effective and efficient record‑keeping procedures. Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis. Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment. Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and the community. Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification. Participate in training and staff meetings. Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, and coordinating meetings as needed. Evaluate each student’s learning capabilities and celebrate student accomplishments. Encourage students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character in the classroom, on the school campus, and throughout their lives. Be active in the role, including light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus, traveling to other campuses as required, and participating in events outside of normal hours. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications A current teaching certificate from within the state. Pass a criminal history background check. Physical and Travel Requirements / Work Environment Travel between campuses is required from time to time; local and in‑state travel required. Position requires the need to lift objects (up to 25 pounds) on occasion. May require sitting for long periods, talking on the phone, standing, kneeling, stooping, and long periods of concentration.
