Description
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups utilizing standardized assessments and clinical observations.
  • Create tailored treatment plans that prioritize both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy sessions focusing on various aspects of communication such as language skills, fluency, voice, and swallowing pathways.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team that includes physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, family members, and caregivers for seamless care coordination.
  • Educate patients and their families to reinforce therapeutic strategies outside of clinical settings.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and treatments, maintaining a consistent quality of care along the continuum.
  • Document patient progress accurately and timely in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through education opportunities and collaboration with fellow speech pathologists.
Education
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification needs to be obtained within the first month of employment.

  • Strong background in evidence-based approaches for treating individuals of all ages, with expertise in developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to tailor therapeutic methods to respect diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgement along with problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
