- Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups utilizing standardized assessment tools and keen observation.
- Create tailored treatment strategies that fulfill both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Administer focused, one-on-one speech therapy sessions that hone in on communication skills, language development, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate seamlessly with a diverse team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, family members, and caregivers, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
- Facilitate educational sessions for patients and their families to bolster therapy progress outside of scheduled meetings.
- Provide support with inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions as necessary, ensuring a smooth treatment process.
- Maintain meticulous documentation according to state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in ongoing learning to stay abreast of advancements in speech therapy through professional development and peer consultations.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of starting.
- Strong command of evidence-based methodologies for treating individuals across all ages, with insight into developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills that foster effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary professionals.
- Ability to adjust therapy techniques respecting diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Sound clinical judgment paired with robust problem-solving capabilities.
