- Conduct thorough assessments of patient needs across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics employing recognized assessment tools and clinical observations.
- Create tailored intervention plans that align with both immediate objectives and the overarching communication, cognition, or swallowing requirements of your patients.
- Implement individualized speech therapy strategies concentrating on areas like communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Engage in collaborative team efforts with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, family members, and caregivers to ensure a unified treatment approach.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment objectives, encouraging their involvement in continued improvement outside of therapy sessions.
- Participate in occasional inpatient assessments and therapy, guaranteeing that continuity of care is upheld throughout the patient journey.
- Keep precise and prompt documentation in compliance with relevant state, federal, and organizational standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay ahead of advancements and best practices within the speech therapy field.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) for candidates not yet ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic techniques for a wide range of ages, with a solid grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
