Description
- Conduct evaluations on patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations employing both standardized assessments and observational insights.
- Craft individualized treatment strategies that target immediate needs and long-term communication and swallowing goals.
- Deliver tailored one-on-one speech therapy focusing on language, fluency, voice, and swallowing interventions.
- Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to formulate holistic care plans.
- Provide education to patients and families to assist with their progress beyond clinical interventions.
- Occasionally assist with inpatient evaluations and therapy sessions, ensuring seamless care throughout the treatment journey.
- Ensure meticulous and timely documentation that adheres to state and federal regulations and organizational policies.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay abreast of advancements in your field through education and collaboration with peers.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you have not achieved ASHA certification yet.
- Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire.
- Expertise in evidence-based practices for all age groups, coupled with a robust knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing difficulties.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary care team.
- Ability to tailor therapy methods to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in electronic medical recordkeeping and documentation requirements.
