Details Multi-specialty unit primarily focused on Med/Surg Tele care PCU is the only 24/7 acute care unit on campus, accommodating up to 36 patients Medical patients include dialysis and telemetry monitoring along with other acute medical needs Surgical population includes orthopedic procedures (fractures, shoulders, backs) and general surgery (appendectomy, hernia repair, cholecystectomy, colon resection) Nurse/patient ratio of 1:6, supported by a Team Leader out of staffing Night shift schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM 36 hours per week Every other weekend required Holiday coverage required as scheduled Must be willing to float to other units and hospitals Uses Meditech EMR Requirements Active RN license, State of Alabama or Compact (no temporary licenses accepted) Current AHA BLS certification or Red Cross equivalent Associate degree in nursing required 2 years of RN experience required; will consider 18 months with 1 year of recent experience in specialty No prior license actions, past or current, allowed NURSYS license verification required Additional Information Provide patient-centered care with a strong focus on pain management, mobility, and prevention of complications Work within a collaborative nursing and ancillary staff team dedicated to optimal patient outcomes Dress code requires solid navy scrubs Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no mile radius restrictions First-time travelers may be considered for this position American Traveler Job ID P-749973.
