Registered Nurse - PCU / Tele
The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Telemetry is responsible for delivering exceptional patient care by utilizing the nursing process. This role involves collaborating with various professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care delivery and the achievement of desired outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct and individualized nursing care to patients, utilizing evidence-based practices and scientific nursing principles.
- Engage effectively with patients and their families, ensuring clear communication and support throughout their care journey.
- Monitor patient conditions and administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Assess patient needs and develop appropriate care plans tailored to individual health conditions.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care and outcomes.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
- May be required to float to different units or other locations based on patient care needs.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- National Institutes of Health (NIH) Stroke Scale certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with prior travel nursing experience preferred.
- Ability to live 150 miles or more from the facility.
Work Schedule
The position involves night shifts, requiring commitment to a three 12-hour shift schedule (19:00 - 07:00).
