Lead, Critical Facilities Engineer, NA

Position Overview This role will work at one of our data center campuses in Phoenix, AZ. We are looking for a Lead Critical Facilities Engineer who delivers best‑in‑class service and manages a team of electrical and mechanical engineers performing maintenance and repair for data center infrastructure. The candidate will ensure high uptime and maintain facilities to a very high standard. Essential Job Functions Coordinate work efforts and tasks to ensure seamless operations on shift and between all shifts Serve as primary escalation point for on‑shift CFEs Assign tasking to on‑shift CFEs Drive high‑level task/project completion Support, create, review MOP/SOP/EOPs for critical work efforts Work under limited supervision, both independently and within a team environment Manage multiple one‑time and/or ongoing projects Respond to safety and emergency situations and maintain a safe and secure work environment Use discretion and judgment in organizing workflow and adapting priorities as the environment changes Maintain frequent contact with employees at all levels and external vendors Perform additional duties as assigned by management Duties Operate, perform maintenance and service repairs on critical systems (UPS, PDU, diesel generators, ATS equipment, building controls, chillers, CRAH, etc.) Develop reliability reports to ensure availability and capacity targets are achieved with 100% uptime Coordinate and oversee maintenance vendors to ensure safety and maintain power to critical loads Create required MOPs, SOPs, and EOPs to ensure all maintenance activities are performed in accordance Job Requirements Minimum 8 years (10+ preferred) of hands‑on experience with maintenance and repair of industrial electrical and mechanical systems in mission‑critical facilities, including generators, fuel delivery systems, parallel switchgear, MV/LV switchgear, PDUs, UPS, switchgear, HVAC, air handling units and building monitoring/control systems. Knowledge of commercial building blueprints, electrical single‑line diagrams and schematics. Experience with operating, maintaining, repairing, inspecting and testing critical electrical distribution systems, HVAC, and building management equipment. Technical writing skills and experience creating, coordinating, updating, and modifying MOPs/SOPs/EOPs. Strong emphasis on technical skills/training; intent to obtain a license within a reasonable time. May be required to complete formal training in a specialty area (e.g., UPS maintenance). Reliable transportation for work shifts and emergencies; travel less than 5% of the time. Successful background check required.
