Plant Maintenance Technician - Night Shift

Approximate hours for this position: 5pm-3am Monday‑Friday with occasional Saturdays. What You’ll Do Promote Safety: take an active role in prioritizing safety throughout the operation for yourself and others in accordance with MSHA and Vulcan standards. Repair and Maintain Plant Equipment: perform repairs and maintenance throughout the plant, including screen changes, conveyor belt repair and adjustment, wear parts replacement, crusher liner changes, water pump service, cutting, grinding, and welding as needed. Inspect Equipment and Structures: perform daily inspections and maintenance of plant equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant operations while maximizing production and minimizing interruptions. Monitor Processes and Materials: monitor and review plant areas (aggregate crushing, washing, screening) to identify problems and ensure safety and material compliance. Document and Record Information: enter and maintain service and lubrication reports for plant equipment to keep preventative maintenance up to date. Perform General Physical Activities: assist with plant operation by cleaning, washing, sweeping, and shoveling materials. Additional Responsibilities: perform other duties as assigned. Skills You’ll Need Experience: previous experience in the aggregate or construction industry is preferred. Knowledge of Best Practices: knowledge of general principles and practices of industrial maintenance, construction, or aggregate production is preferred. Flexibility: must be able to work overtime and extended hours depending on customer and company demands; must be able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noises. Mechanical Skills: must have some knowledge of industrial tools, their uses, and maintenance. What You’ll Like About Us Hourly Range: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour. This range does not include discretionary bonus or equity package. Shift Differential: Night or Second Shift employees are paid a shift differential of an additional 20% on their base pay if they work certain hours during the designated time period.
