Registered Nurse Labor and Delivery

Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery RN will provide comprehensive care for mothers and newborns in a high-volume, Level 1 birthing center. This role requires experienced, confident nurses capable of managing the full labor process independently and efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care for women during labor, delivery, and postpartum, ensuring maternal and neonatal safety.
• Circulate in the OR, assisting with procedures and providing support throughout deliveries, including twins and high-risk cases.
• Chart accurately using EPIC electronic medical records, maintaining compliance with documentation standards.
• Titrate and manage titratable drips, including mag, pit, and insulin, per protocol.
• Collaborate with neonatologists and OB hospitalists, responding promptly to neonatal and obstetric emergencies.
• Assist with patient admissions, triage, and discharge processes, ensuring smooth unit flow and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of L&D experience outside of training, including travel assignments (at least 3).
• Current NRP, BLS, ACLS, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications.
• Demonstrated experience with EPIC charting and circulating in the OR; scrub experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to independently manage labor, delivery, postpartum, and OR duties with confidence and professionalism.
• Strong skills in high-risk obstetric care, twin deliveries, and Level 1 birthing center protocols.
• Must be comfortable working full shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, with flexibility to float to other maternal units.
