(Greet, Observe, Assist, Thank) service to our customers. The Meat Clerk is responsible for providing excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with meat selections, answering questions, and ensuring products are fresh, well-stocked, and properly displayed. This role supports daily department operations, including cutting, trimming, packaging, and labeling meat products while following food safety and sanitation standards. The Meat Clerk also assists with inventory management, maintains a clean and organized work area, and contributes to a positive shopping experience through friendly and efficient service.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide friendly, helpful service while maintaining a professional demeanor and enhancing the customer's shopping experience (G.O.A.T)Assist the customer with purchases of products and other services such as slicing, grinding, repackaging, serving suggestions, etc.Wrap, weigh, trim, price, and adjust pricing for all meat department products in compliance with company policies, food safety standards, customer protection laws, and weights and measures regulations.Maintains the proper supply of products in the cases and packaged deli through proper rotation and display of product per company standards and schematicsResponsible for cleaning up of wrapping, scaling, and production equipment according to proper cleaning and sanitation proceduresAdhere to all safety, health, weights and measures regulations, and company recipesGrind meat and prepare specialty items such as kabobs, marinated cuts, and custom ordersAdhere strictly to all food safety regulations, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of meat productsHandle knives, saws, grinders, and other meat-cutting equipment safely and responsiblyOrders products and supplies, inventories products and supplies as assignedWork collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth department operations and excellent customer experienceAll other related duties as required and assignedRequirements / QualificationsMust be at least 18 years of ageHigh school diploma is preferred but not requiredA valid Food Handler / Health CardAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasksFriendly, helpful attitude with a focus on customer satisfaction and service at all timeAbility to work well within the team and follow direction with a good attitudeExcellent communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with customers and other teammatesBasic math and reading skills for handling pricing, labels, equipment, and inventoryGood problem-solving abilities and attention to detailAbility to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weightsAbility to operate meat processing equipment safely and efficientlyAvailable to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysMust maintain a sense of integrity and adhere to all store policies and procedures, including safety standards and the collective bargaining agreementJoin Our Team And Make A DifferenceBe a part of a team that makes a difference in the communities we serve.
