Job Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to behavioral health and mental health patients within an inpatient setting. The RN is responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring a safe therapeutic environment for patients and staff.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate compassion, professionalism, strong clinical judgment, and excellent communication skills while delivering patient-centered psychiatric nursing care.

Key Responsibilities

Assess patient conditions and develop individualized care plans

Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care

Administer medications and monitor patient responses

Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies

Provide education and support to patients and families

Promote a safe and therapeutic environment

Monitor and report any changes in patient condition or safety concerns

Delegate and coordinate assignments for support staff as needed

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and patient care planning

Support discharge planning and aftercare coordination

Demonstrate professionalism and compassionate behavioral health care

Qualifications Required

Active Michigan RN License

Graduated from an accredited School of Nursing

Ability to work in a behavioral health/psychiatric setting

Strong communication and critical thinking skills

Ability to work in emotionally demanding environments

Preferred

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Previous psychiatric, behavioral health, or emergency department experience

New graduates with relevant clinical exposure may be considered
