Operator (petroleum pipeline) in Dallas, TX.

The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, dayshift with some overtime and callout.

Job Profile Summary

Perform terminal operations activities supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient receipt, storage, blending, testing, and distribution of refined petroleum products. Responsibilities include product movement operations, quality control activities, regulatory compliance, customer support, equipment monitoring, and terminal maintenance at a high-volume refined products terminal.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Perform terminal operations activities involving the receipt, storage, transfer, blending, and loading of refined petroleum products.

• Perform manual valve line ups and batch cuts.

• Operate and monitor terminal equipment and facilities including:

  • Product storage tanks

  • Pipelines and associated transfer equipment

  • Refined products loading rack

  • Jet fuel filtration systems

  • Additive injection systems

  • Ethanol offloading rack

  • Butane and natural gasoline offloading skid

  • Vapor recovery and emissions control equipment

• Perform product quality control activities including:

  • Product sampling and testing

  • Filter inspections and differential pressure checks

  • MSEP and Millipore testing

  • Jet fuel quality assurance activities

  • Oversight and verification sampling

• Support truck-to-tank blending operations and coordinate product movements to maximize operational efficiency and capture commercial opportunities.

• Monitor product inventories, tank levels, pipeline schedules, and terminal operating conditions.

• Perform routine inspections of terminal assets and identify equipment issues requiring maintenance or corrective action.

• Provide customer support related to product movements, loading operations, carrier activities, and terminal access requirements.

• Coordinate with Operations Control, Commercial, Engineering, Maintenance, customers, carriers, and contractors regarding terminal operations and product movements.

• Complete regulatory, operational, environmental, and quality documentation in accordance with company procedures.

• Respond to abnormal operating conditions, equipment failures, product quality concerns, and emergency situations.

• Maintain terminal grounds, equipment, and facilities in accordance with company expectations and safety standards.

• Participate in an on-call rotation and support terminal operations outside normal business hours as needed.

• Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response activities. Job duties require the employee to remain alert and respond immediately to hazardous conditions where failure to follow procedures could result in injury, environmental impact, or property damage.

• Provide operational support and coverage at other terminals within the assigned operating area during staffing shortages, training events, vacations, special projects, or increased workload demands.

• Perform temporary work assignments at other company locations as business needs require.

Education

• High School Diploma required

• Associates/Bachelors preferred

Work Experience

• Experience in terminal, refinery, pipeline, petrochemical, military, transportation, or related industrial operations preferred.

• Experience operating pumps, valves, meters, loading racks, storage tanks, filtration systems, or other industrial equipment preferred.

• Experience performing inspections, sampling, testing, quality control, and regulatory compliance activities preferred.

• Experience working safely in an industrial environment and following established operating procedures.

• Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Teams, Excel, and Word preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of terminal operations, product handling, and quality control practices.

• Ability to learn and apply company operating, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

• Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to prioritize assignments and work effectively with limited supervision.

• Ability to communicate effectively with employees, customers, contractors, and management.

• Ability to complete written reports and maintain accurate operational records.

• Ability to work safely around hazardous materials, moving equipment, and changing operating conditions.

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid driver's license required.
